TecAlliance supports workshops during wheel change

TecAlliance supports workshops with wheel change checks, winter checks, corrosion protection checks and the new checklist for initial diagnosis, thus helping them to create long-term customer relationships and generate extra revenue.

TecAlliance’s Repair and Maintenance Information (RMI) solution, which is integrated into the TecDoc Catalogue, provides a series of checklists that helps workshops to offer their customers the best possible advice and transparency, which builds trust.

Wheel change made easy with checklist and mounting information

Using the wheel change checklist, for example, the workshop employee identifies the tread, condition and safety level of each tyre to be mounted; he also checks the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and the TPMS sensor batteries. The dismounted wheelset is checked as well so that the workshop can procure new tyres for the customer in a timely manner, if necessary.

TecAlliance also provides comprehensive technical information on how to install and remove the tyre pressure sensors and how to change wheels. Wholesalers can integrate this information into their own parts catalogues. The RMI data and instructions are then displayed in the online catalogue for to the relevant vehicle or in the article search. This speeds up the workshop’s workflows.

Making vehicles fit for winter

Besides the wheel change, the wintertime check, the corrosion protection check and the new check for initial diagnosis generate additional revenue opportunities, i.e. from refilling fluids and replacing wear parts. The customer receives a clear list of which jobs and checks have been carried out and the results. This gives him the good feeling of being able to rely on his workshop at all times.

During the winter check, the vehicle is inspected from the inside, from the outside and from below. The fill levels of the windshield washer concentrate, the oil, the brake fluid, etc., are checked. The battery, the first aid kit, the safety materials, the windscreen wiper, the brake system, the air conditioning system and the steering wheel are also inspected.

Road salt, ice and snow are hard on paint and the underbody during the winter season. Is there any paint damage, or has salt damage led to corrosion? The checklist for the corrosion protection check ensures that nothing is overlooked. Even minor abnormalities are detected so that they can be repaired in a timely manner.

The workshop can easily advise the customer with the checklist for initial diagnosis. To this end, it first records all the customer's information on complaints, symptoms, ambient conditions, engine indicator lamps and fault codes. Then it systematically checks and rectifies the faults with the aid of the troubleshooting run.  This creates transparency,  trust and long-term customer loyalty.

In addition to the checklists mentioned above, TecAlliance supports workshops with checklists on topics including: brake check, direct acceptance check, final inspection check, preventive axle alignment, holiday check and summer check.
