25 Years TecDoc Standard in 2019:

TecAlliance launches Version 3.0 of the TecDoc Catalogue

Today, a brake disc is a brake disc and this definition is unique and reliable across the global spare parts industry in the Independent Automotive Aftermarket thanks to the globally recognised TecDoc Standard. In the mid-90s TecAlliance  was founded to create and establish a uniform data format to process the collection, publication and distribution of high
quality, OE-based spare parts product information – and in 1994 the TecDoc Standard was introduced to the market. Since then it enables comparability, efficiency, transparency and quality in product data across the industry globally.

TecAlliance celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2019 with the newly launched version 3.0 of the TecDoc Catalogue - one of the world‘s leading spare parts catalogues based on the TecDoc Standard.

In the Independent Automotive Aftermarket (IAM) today hardly anyone can imagine that there was a time when the data for vehicles and spare parts were neither standardized  nor proved by anyone, whether the data and the linkages to vehicles were correct and consistent at all. The TecDoc Standard nowadays enables accurate and compre- hensive product information, fast and precise identification of spare parts and vehicles as well as digitized process solu- tions that support each player in the market – industry, trade, workshops and fleet operators - along the entire supply chain. A strong international standard also is the fundament for the digital future of tomorrow. That is why TecAlliance continuously invests in inno- vation, research and development and its own agile transformation.

With the new TecDoc Catalogue 3.0, TecAlliance sets a new standard in spare parts identification along with a range of advantages for workshops and part traders. The improved in-depth integra- tion of a wide variety of vehicle manu- facturer-compliant repair and mainte- nance information (RMI) allows users to access it directly from the spare parts search. The system is component-driven and clearly structured. Scope, quality and up-to-date status of the data and information in the TecDoc Catalogue enable independent workshops to offer vehicle maintenance in line with the manufacturer’s specifications, main-taining the manufacturer‘s warranty. But workshops are not the only players to benefit from TecDoc Catalogue 3.0:

In order to help commercial customers set up their own web shops quickly and easily, TecAlliance will offer in the near future the option of creating a custo- mised solution, based on the TecDoc Catalogue, featuring web shop functio- nality and fully integrated RMI data.

As an alternative, distributors can integ- rate the TecDoc Catalogue’s range of data into their own shops and catalogue systems as a web service.

Today, the TecDoc Catalogue includes more than 110,000 vehicle models, data for 6.6 million articles from more than 700 brands, 254 million links and 48 article groups. Detailed information at www.tecalliance.net/en/tecdoc-catalogue
